Lake Como has established itself as one of those destinations people love to go on a vacation. But its claim to fame is not only because of its stunning landscape and reigning popularity among celebrities. It also has to do with the amazing infrastructure and opportunities that tourists enjoy here. And one among them is the incredible golf experience that one can enjoy here. The region has some of Italy’s best golf clubs.
Here is a list of  some of the most noteworthy and popular golf courses which are located  along the shores of Lake Como:
Menaggio and Cadenabbia golf club: Located about 5km up the mountain pass between Menaggio and Porlezza, the golf course with an adjoining golf club, restaurant and library, makes for an ideal golfing holiday. The golf course was designed by J.H. Taylor, the renowned English professional golfer. It is open from Mid-March to Mid- November and invites golfers to play challenging shots. Needless to mention that very few golf courses around the world boast of such breath-taking views which surround the golf course.
Monticello Golf club: Spread over an area of about 140 hectares, Monticello Golf course is the largest one that we have in Italy. The club was originally designed by Tim Murphy. It has hosted seven operas and is frequented by many professional golfers. It has two golf courses: red and blue. Together with its ultra-modern facilities, infrastructure and its location in the lap of nature, Monticello Golf Club promises a truly incredible golfing experience.
Golf Club Lanzo: Situated at a height of about 1000 meters from sea level between Lake Como and Lake Lugano, Golf Club Lanzo is a perfect destination for playing golf while enjoying a leisurely holiday. The 9-hole course is nestled along the beautiful landscape of Pian della Noci. The interesting thing about the place is that the golf club has a large terrace with open dining facilities overlooking the course. One can also enjoy other sports here such as tennis and swimming, as well as skiing during the winters.
Pinetina Golf club: Spread over an area of about 70 hectares, the beautiful 18-hole golf course is a source of delight for golfers visiting Lake Como. Far from other touristy towns in the Lake Como region, the golf course overlooks a wide expanse of green woods which is full of pines, woodland, birches, oaks and chestnut tree.
