This charming town house, in the heart of Avola, offers guests a chance to experience a taste of authentic Sicilian life. Just 5 minutes from Logghia Beach, guests will get the best out of this popular holiday town. The house, which sleeps 2 people, is on a quiet street. The ground floor is an open-plan living/dining room furnished with a sofa, a flat-screen TV, an attractive dining table and chairs. The separate kitchen, which is at the back of the house, is well-equipped with a cooker hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and a kettle. The upstairs, shaded balcony makes a delightful outside living space. It has a table and chairs where guests can relax and enjoy the sea breeze. Sleeping Bedroom: On the first floor, the charming bedroom, with a nautical theme, has a double bed, wardrobe, mosquito net and a glass door leading out to the private balcony. Location Avola is a popular holiday destination for families and young people, thanks to its wide beaches with the crystal clear Ionian sea and its historical centre – the Antico Borgo (4 minutes walk). This lively town has much to offer in terms of amenities, good restaurants and shops. Food is a major part of life in Avola and there are numerous festivals celebrating local delicacies. For self-catering the Vecchio Mercato (7 minutes walk) is the daily fish market where you can find the freshest catch of the day. For the best vegetables and other local delicacies, the Saturday market in Piazza S Sebastiano (5 minute drive) is the best place to pick up ingredients to cook at home. The famous red wine, Nero d’Avola, which takes its name from the town is available in many cantine (wine cellars) where visitors can try the different varieties and decide which to take home. For people who want a day in the countryside, then a trip to the Cava Grande Canyon (40 minute drive) is a great option. Known as Sicily’s Grand Canyon, the gorge is up to 250m deep and at the bottom visitors can enjoy a swim in one of the many clear, natural pools. Catania’s international airport is a 1 hour drive from the apartment.
