Location
Although the house is in a remote part of Spain there is plenty to do at any time of year. In winter, the ski resorts of Andorra are only 30 minutes away. When the snows have melted, there are many stunning hiking and mountain biking routes, through stunning alpine landscapes.
The house is just 5 minutes from the historic town of La Seu d’Urgell. This beautiful town has an impressive 12th Century cathedral, a museum and the Bishop’s palace. The town’s market takes place every Tuesday and Saturday between Calle Mayor and Calle Canonges. Here you will find the freshest local produce. There is also a supermarket. If you do not want to cook then the town has several excellent restaurants.
The Segre Olympic Park (7 minutes drive) was built for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Here visitors have a wide range of activities including white water rafting, canoeing, paddle boarding and climbing walls. For golfers - the Aravell Golf & Country Club is 25 minutes away.
For something different, head to Andorra La Vella (23 minutes), the capital of Andorra, one of Europe’s smallest countries. Here you will find some excellent shopping at great prices.
