The town’s beach is picture-perfect, long with pristine white sand. It is particularly popular with families, as the crystal clear, shallow waters are very safe for bathing and good for snorkelling. You can also hire sun loungers and umbrellas, as well as jet skis and windsurfing boards if you are feeling adventurous. The numerous coastal paths have spectacular views of the famous island of Tavolara. The island of Tavolara claims to be the smallest kingdom in the world and is well worth a day trip for hiking, swimming and lunch at the famous Da Tonino restaurant, run by the island’s current king. For food options closer to home, Pittulongu has many good restaurants with local Sardinian specialities, seafood and classic Italian cuisine. If you want to experiment with local produce yourself, Olbia hosts farmers' markets 3 days a week, the best being the Saturday market in Via Sangallo. There are many amenities in Pittulongu – shops and pharmacies, however, you are advised to bring your own car when staying at the property. Olbia airport is just a 15-minute drive from the apartment. If you plan to arrive by ferry from Livorno or Civitavecchia the ferry terminal in Olbia is only a 10-minute drive away. The property is not suitable for elderly people.
