Location
On the hillside, south east of the city of Perugia, Spello is an ideal base to explore the famous sites of Umbria. Spello is known for its flower festival, the “Infloriata”, in early June.
Assisi, with its famous cathedrals and shrines to St Francis, is just 20 minutes away by car. The stunning city of Perugia is a 30 minute drive. The town of Montefalco (30 minutes) is famous for its fine red wines.
For self-catering, Spello’s weekly market takes place every Wednesday morning. Here you can find everything from food and flowers to clothes and handbags. There is also a supermarket a few minutes from the main town gates.
The closest airport is at Perugia a 21 minute drive away.
