From the lovely holiday home, guests are within a 5-minute walk from the lakefront and the Piazza Grande of Morcote. A host of local visitor attractions including Parco Scherrer, Torre del Capitano, Cimitero Monumentale, Borgo Antico, Oratio Di Sant’Antonio and the Church of Santa Maria del Sasso also provide a lovely excuse to get out and explore, located within a 10-minute walk.
Lake Lugano offers a fantastic range of tourist attractions to suit all ages and interests; from the Alprose Chocolate Factory, Villa Cicogna Mozzoni, FoxTown Factory stores, the Mount Tamaro adventure park, the hiking trails and Santa Maria degli Angeli hotspots to the panoramic views from Monte San Salvatore, the ‘Splash e Spa’, popular ‘Swissminiatur’ and the fantastic family Lido, Golf and Tennis clubs found in the beautiful lake capital of Lugano. All these attractions are within a 10-25 minute drive from here. Alternatively, guests can take the ferry from Morcote, with the ferry services just a couple of steps from the apartment.
Perfectly suited for year-round getaways, the holiday retreat is also close to the ski resorts and is conveniently placed just 17 minutes drive from Lugano Airport and 65 minutes drive from Milan Malpensa.

Our stay in Villa Matilde was beautiful! It's a charming and - even on the overcast day we were there - bright apartment in this early 1900's historical villa right at the edge of the village. The main square is a 3 minute walk away, together with all the little restaurants and bars, and the flat is right in front of the water, with a beautiful view on Lake Lugano. We're planning on coming back in the summer and enjoying the public swimming platform right in front of the Villa. The private bedroom and couch bed gave enough space and privacy for the three of us, and the kitchen was fully equipped. We also really liked the homely ambiance that immediately put us at ease. We wish we could have stayed longer, it was really worth it, and we'll definitely go back!Response:
